After having lunch, was walking from the office for a stroll and could hear a peculiar sound. I turned towards the direction of the sound and was surprised to see a wood pecker drilling the concrete ceiling of our adjacent building.

I knew wood peckers can only drill the trees and was taken back looking at the wood pecker using its beak in drumming the concrete building. I admired the strength of this bird.
We all know, how Robert Bruce the Scotland king, went hiding in the cave and saw a spider succeeding after many attempts of fall and got inspired. He then went on fight with the English army for the 8th time and won the battle.
Ants are another good example, do they feel tired at all any day? Where do they get glucose? For continuously running and carrying weights above its weight?
Honey bees creates mini hurricanes while flying and the eyes of those mini-hurricanes have lower pressure than the surrounding air, so, keeping those movement of air above its wings helps the bee stay up in the air, inspite of their limitation of weight.
We learn from the animal kingdom. Unfortunately we are driving them out of this world for our selfish nature of occupying their territory.
The spongy bones of the woodpecker’s skull and the flexibility of its beak, both of which provide protection for the brain when drumming, have provided inspiration to engineers; a black box needs to survive intact when a plane falls from the sky, and modelling the black box with regard to a woodpecker’s anatomy has increased the resistance of this device to heavy damage. The design of protective helmets is another field being influenced by the study of woodpeckers.
The owner of the building then covered the hole made by the wood pecker.

The hole made by the wood pecker was useful for other birds to use as a nest.
Two days later, after taking my lunch I was walking and again I could hear the drumming sound. This time, it was in our office building.
Lesson from the concrete pecker, sorry wood pecker “Don’t give up”.

Means it never stop it’s help to other birds. It’s a beautiful lesson to our humans too. Like wook becker we also should not stop to help others, what a great lesson 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you Ezhil!
We have encroached upon their habitat.
They have also evolved to understand the wood beneath the paint.
Kudos to them
Thank you Mahesh Hariharan!
Good lesson for humans. Willpower and self confidence are important to survive our life
Thank you Sudha Shan.
