New York days

We were greeted with chillness of about 180C when landed in New York from Fort Lauderdale. It was a long weekend in U.S due to the Memorial Day, a federal holiday for honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. When most parts of the world were tormented by the peak summer, it was chilled and pleasant in New York.

The hotel was in downtown near to the 9/11 twin tower memorial. We went to the 9/11 memorial, located at the World Trade Center site, the former location of the Twin Towers that were destroyed during the September 11 attacks.

The memorial has north and south pools with waterfalls to silence the sounds of the city. The names of victims of one of the worst terrorist attack were inscribed in the bronze parapets and there was a fresh white rose. It reminded the worst attack, no one in the world would have imagined.

I saw an American lady in tears when she came to the memorial. I could feel the grief and pain of her inspite of two decades flown away. The scars still remain in the hearts of many who had lost their beloved ones.

The Survivor tree was impressive. It shows the concept of Nature. Every beginning has an end and every end has a beginning.

My mind went back to the thoughts of the prediction of French Nostradamus in the 15th century and Bulgaria’s Baba Vanga prediction about the twin tower attack in the 1989. How come it was prewritten 500 & 12 years back? I could not get answers and also many who just escaped the attack because of few minutes delay? Few questions cannot be answered and beyond the reach!!!

Statue of Liberty

The beautiful relationship of the French and the Americans, in honor of the alliance between the two countries during the American Revolution, had presented the statue to recognize America as a champion of liberty and encourage the French to support the same ideals. This Roman Goddess represents hope, freedom, and equal opportunity. She stands tall withstanding numerous lightenings for the past 137 years displaying the courage to withstand during the adversities.

Interaction with a Pakistani.

We took travel by a taxi owned by a Pakistani. We were discussing about Bollywood stars & movies and of course the game of cricket. He had met many Bollywood actors and taken in his car-Rishi Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinda, Karan Johar and was sharing the interesting anecdotes with mimicry. It was sad that back in India and Pakistan, hatred and enmity has engulfed instead of love!

Galaxy of stars

Met a galaxy of great personalities-Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet, Jackie Chan, Salman Rushdie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh Bachan, Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Wills Smith, and Obama. Hahahaha, I met them as wax statues in Madam Tussauds. They can be admired for their exceptional skills but not for hero worshipping since everyone born in this earth has flaws.

Magical experience of Harry potter

Witnessed the magical experience of J K Rowling’s Harry Potter and the cursed child in the Broadway theatre as live show. A live show with spectacular display, music and stage act by actors was captivating. Interesting to see, still live stage shows attract lots of audiences in this digital era. The show ended with lot of applause which was a great tribute to the actors. A surreal show not to be missed.

While leaving New York, read an article that New York is slightly lowering down due to many skyscrapers in the vibrant non-sleeping popular city in the world.
