Stressed? Then it is time to destress!

Stress, the word we often hear these days!! Let us presume stress was comparatively less few decades before, but the level has definitely increased over the years due to the fast-paced world. Digitalized world and single click govern the life of today. Life has changed a lot due to the advancement in technology. Our leisure time has reduced and one can see persons having breakfast in high-speed trains while going to office. Most of the times, we have very little time to discuss / talk to our loved ones.

Stress is good in limited doses and when exceeded is toxic as age old saying that anything that goes excess is not good.

The invasion of corona virus in this world have added another chapter to stress and psychologists globally would accept that this has further deepened the crisis. It has made an impact to all the living beings on Earth in varying degrees. It has stressed the medical fraternity to cope up the monstrous demands, has stressed the aviation and tourism industry for loss of jobs and likewise many examples. Many had decided to end their lives, when they are unable to cope up the stress building on them. Ending lives is not the solution to the stressed life. It is very sad to see individuals choosing suicide as solution when stress drowns them and thereby creating the chain of stress in their loved one’s life. Coping up stress is very hard and difficult but ending lives is not the right answer. That reminds me of the famous magician Vikey in Malaysia, who started selling durians when the pandemic hit hard his magic profession. He gives hope to those, who choose the wrong answer for the stressed life! The fear of failure grips and no one wants to fail. Many fail to understand that failure is the best teacher than success!

Like all other illness our body exhibits, mental illness is also one of the kinds. It was considered as a social stigma to put under the carpet to hide. The times are changing and world recognizes that mental illness has to be cured and there are many to help. When we are stressed and not able to take it anymore, it is better to ask help rather than burying it inside and to explode someday badly!
